The princess is kidnapped by 3 outlaws, one of whom is Vizzini, a man from Sicily. The "man in black" pursues the princess and 3 outlaws on the Cliffs of Insanity. He defeats one kidnapper in a fencing duel, chokes another, and, in this scene, attempts to trick Vizzini into drinking a deadly poison.
- [Re: #4] The "man in black" hopes the conversation will enable him to rescue the princess, because he loves her
- [Re: #5] If he cannot rescue the princess, she - and he - both will die.
