 Project 1: Create a poster that represents You

Poster Presentation Date: Thursday, October 5, 2023

  1. Posters may be digital (PowerPoint, Canva...) or analog (paper)
    • Digital posters must be saved as a .pdf to a flash drive you bring to class with you on Thursday, October 5
    • Paper posters must be at least 11 x 17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm), brought to class with you on Thursday, October 5
  2. Reminder: posters must include at least 5 clear images that represent aspects of who you are
  3. Practice your presentation! Be ready to speak in English with the class about the specific ways that each image represents you. You may read from a script that you prepare in advance.
RUBRIC:

Grade of A (90-100%)
  • Student brings the poster to class on the scheduled day of the presentation as a .pdf on a flash drive or printed on paper of at least 11x17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm)
  • Poster has at least 5 clear, artistically arranged images
  • Student speaks about each image audibly, clearly, and eloquently without prompting
  • Student's description of each image provides the class with a remarkably deep understanding of the student
Grade of B (80-89%)
  • Student brings the poster to class on the scheduled day of the presentation as a .pdf on a flash drive or printed on paper of at least 11x17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm)
  • Poster has at least 5 clear images
  • Student speaks about each image audibly and clearly without prompting
  • Student's description of each image provides the class with a fairly deep understanding of the student
Grade of C (70-79%)
  • Student brings the poster to class on the scheduled day of the presentation as a .pdf on a flash drive or printed on paper of at least 11x17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm)
  • Poster has at least 5 clear images
  • Student speaks about each image audibly and clearly with minimal prompting
  • Student's description of each image provides the class with a basic understanding of the student
Grade of D (60-69%) 
  • Student brings the poster to class on the scheduled day of the presentation as a .pdf on a flash drive or printed on paper of at least 11x17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm)
  • Poster has at least 5 images
  • Student speaks about each image with frequent prompting
  • Student's description of each image provides the class with a superficial understanding of the student
Grade of F (0-59%)
  • Student fails to bring the poster to class on the scheduled day of the presentation as a .pdf on a flash drive or printed on paper of at least 11x17 inches (27.94 x 43.18 cm)
  • Poster has less than 5 images
  • Student speaks inaudibly and unintelligibly with constant prompting about each image
  • Student's description of each image provides the class with little to no understanding of the student
